Getting the Baylor I-20
The Form I-20 is a document that indicates that a student has been admitted to the university. It is required for anyone who plans to study using the F-1 visa. Students who do not currently have an F-1 visa must have it BEFORE scheduling a Visa appointment at a U.S. Embassy or U.S. Consulate, and it is required to enter the U.S. at the Customs and Border Protection Point of Entry. Students who are already in the U.S. on an F-1 visa must have it BEFORE they can transfer to Baylor. Below are the steps to follow to get the Baylor I-20.
-
Student must be fully admitted to Baylor University.
-
Undergraduate student must pay the university deposit. Graduate student must submit their Intent to Enroll form.
-
Baylor sends an email with a link to login and request the I-20.
-
Student submits all required information and documents to Baylor's ISSS Office using the Global Bears system.
-
Upon successful review and approval of information and documents, Baylor emails the I-20 to the student with further information about paying the SEVIS fee and scheduling a visa appointment if necessary.
Transfer Students: When transferring a SEVIS record from a U.S. university or U.S. high school to Baylor, students must be in status at the time of the transfer. Baylor does not accept SEVIS records that are terminated. It is the student's responsibility to arrange a date for their SEVIS record to be transferred to Baylor by working with their International Student Advisor (DSO) at their current institution.
