Arrival & Check-In (J1 Students)
Arrival & Check-In
All new students are expected to arrive no later than the Program Start Date listed on their DS-2019. Students should plan their travel accordingly so they can arrive on time or earlier if possible. It is also important to note that arriving AFTER your Program Start Date could create difficulties at the U.S. port of entry. Students may enter with their J-1 Visa up to 30 days BEFORE their Program Start Date but not earlier.
A requirement for all students in Initial Status is to complete the Electronic Check-in upon arrival to Baylor. This process includes downloading the most recent I-94 after entering the U.S. and uploading it to the Electronic Check-In Request in Global Bears along with copies of the U.S. Visa in the passport, the front of the signed DS-2019, and the front of the student's Baylor ID card (this can only be obtained after arriving on Baylor campus and getting the ID card from the ID Card Office).
