Global Scholars: First Semester: Liverpool Hope University, United Kingdom
Fall Semester Abroad – Program Details
Program Dates
Arrival: September 9th, 2025
Classes Start:
Classes End and Departure: December 20th, 2025
Before Departure
Over the summer, you’ll prepare for your time abroad by participating in:
Baylor Orientation Session 10 (July 22–23). This is our preferred session because it allows you to meet each other in person and attend the in-person Global Scholars Orientation, which will take place July 22–23.
Can’t make Session 10? That’s okay—you may attend another Orientation session, but you’ll need to complete an Alternate Online Global Scholars Orientation instead. Please only choose this option if necessary.
Line Camp Combination is optional, but we highly encourage you to attend! It’s a fun way to start building community with your fellow Scholars and future Baylor classmates. These dates would be July 22nd–26th.
These events will help you build community with your cohort, meet Baylor faculty who will be traveling with you, and gain practical tips on packing, travel, and adjusting to a new culture.
Support While Abroad
You won’t be navigating this journey alone. Each Global Scholars cohort will be accompanied by:
A Baylor faculty member
A graduate student program assistant
Ongoing support from Liverpool Hope university staff who provide care and assistance throughout your stay
Academics Abroad
This isn’t a vacation—it’s a full Baylor semester. You’ll take:
Two courses taught by Baylor faculty abroad
Three to four courses taught by faculty at Liverpool Hope University (pre-approved for Baylor credit)
Together, these add up to 15–18 credit hours. All courses are designed to challenge your thinking, deepen your global perspective, and help you thrive in a diverse, international learning environment. Click here for details.
What Your Week Might Look Like
While everyone’s schedule will vary, a typical week abroad may include:
Attending classes and completing assignments
Participating in co-curricular experiences tied to your courses
Exploring local events, like theatre performances or rugby matches
Managing everyday life: grocery shopping, cooking, laundry, and navigating a new city
Socializing with peers, traveling locally, and immersing yourself in British and European culture
Built into the program are city-based excursions and weekend study tours that enrich your learning and broaden your understanding of global issues.
Baylor Traditions Abroad
Even while overseas, you’ll stay connected to Baylor traditions:
Weekly Chapel gatherings
Dr Pepper Hour meet-ups
Football game watch parties
In addition, the group will take part in two organized overnight trips to other destinations. Families may choose to visit, but students must prioritize academic responsibilities while abroad.
Group Travel & Independent Exploration
While you’ll have free time to explore on your own, any travel outside the UK must be approved in advance and communicated to Baylor’s trip leaders for safety. More details will be provided closer to departure.
Returning to Baylor
Once you return in January 2026:

Your spring housing on campus will be pre-arranged and guaranteed
