The Center for Global Engagement Ambassadors are a group of student leaders, undergraduate and graduate students, who are here to assist new International Students in their transition to campus! They lead Global Bears Week, our International Student Orientation, and walk students through their first weeks on campus.
Ambassadors are able to help answer any questions leading up to new students' arrival on campus!

PhD Student in Computer Science
Hi! My name is Abanisenioluwa. I'm originally from Nigeria and I've been at Baylor for over three years pursuing my PhD in Computer Science. Outside of academics, I enjoy calisthenics, running, and exploring new places. I became a CGE Ambassador because I know firsthand how big of a transition it can be to move to a new country, and I wanted to be the kind of welcoming face I wished I'd had, helping international students feel at home and find their footing at Baylor.

Undergraduate Student in Studio Arts
Hi! My name is Debora. I’m originally from Asunción, Paraguay, and I’ve been at Baylor since Spring 2025. I’m currently studying Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Leadership Studies, and I’m part of the Honors program. Outside of academics, I enjoy taking pictures, drawing, reading, spending time with friends and family, watching movies, and playing board and video games.
One of my favorite parts of being an ambassador is helping new international students have a smooth transition—not just into college, but also into life in the U.S. It’s really meaningful to me to be able to support others through that experience. A fun fact about me is that I speak four languages: German (my first language), Spanish, English, and Plattdeutsch (a dialect spoken by Paraguayan Mennonites).

PhD Candidate in Curriculum and Instruction
My name is Joshua, I am from Antigua and Barbuda, and I have been at Baylor for three years. I am a PhD candidate in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on educational technology. Outside of academics, I enjoy developing educational game ideas, exploring the intersection of technology and teaching, working out, playing sports and spending time in meaningful conversation with family and friends. One of the highlights of being an ambassador is the opportunity to welcome new students, help them feel at home, and build community among students from different backgrounds. I wanted to be an ambassador because I value connection, cultural exchange, and supporting others as they navigate a new environment.

Undergraduate Student in Business
Hi, my name is Pranav, and I am from Singapore, which is an extremely small country in Southeast Asia. As of 2026, I am a sophomore studying in business school. I love all things fitness and endurance sports, and I also love to read about history. The aspect that I like most about being an ambassador is being able to learn new languages from the different people I meet, as I love to learn new phrases and sentences in various languages. I also enjoy eating new foods from different regions of the world that we put on display in our snack hour every month.

PhD Student in Computer Science
Hi! I'm Abdullah, a PhD student in Computer Science, originally from Bangladesh. Outside of research, I enjoy getting in the car and driving wherever the mood takes me, sometimes nearby, sometimes hours away. It gives me a chance to clear my mind and see things from a different perspective. I joined the Ambassador program because helping new students find their place at Baylor means a lot to me, and there is something special about seeing this university through a newcomer's eyes for the very first time.

Undergraduate Student in Business
Hi! My name is Sam, and I’m from China. I’ve been in the U.S. for about five years, and I came to Baylor in 2024. I’m studying Finance and Marketing, with a strong interest in communication, leadership, and cross-cultural connections. I enjoy playing badminton, meeting people from different backgrounds, hosting campus events, and finding good restaurants around town. I’ve always liked being in spaces where people from different cultures can actually talk, not just exist next to each other.
I wanted to be an ambassador because I know what it feels like to move into a new environment and slowly figure out where you belong. For me, being an ambassador is not just about answering questions or giving directions. It is about helping new international students feel seen, welcomed, and confident enough to build their own Baylor experience.
