Click each title in the database to visit the scholarship website. Please note that these scholarships do not apply to Mission trip participants since Mission trips do not carry course credit.

General Scholarships
The Glennis McCrary Goodrich International Scholarship
The Goodrich Scholarship is an internal scholarship. Applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students at Baylor and US citizens. Recipients will be selected competitively based on financial need AND academic merit (need to be assessed first), and other factors related to the applicant and the nature of the study-abroad program. Applicants for this scholarship will be able to apply in their applications for a Baylor study abroad program.
National Society of Collegiate Scholars
Offers members the opportunity to apply for the Scholar Abroad Program. This program funds two $5,000 awards and one $2,500 award each year. One award is made for each fall, spring, and summer term.
Good Colleges Study Abroad Award
To have a chance to win a Good Colleges Study Abroad Scholarship you just have to write an essay on the theme they give every year. 2022 competition theme is “My Trip, My Future”, this scholarship is open to current and future college students.

Provides support for students to study in Britain, including a searchable database of scholarships.
BUTEX brings together universities, colleges and other HE institutions across the UK that have a shared interest in learning abroad. Our mission is to promote British education internationally, to facilitate collaboration and regular exchange of information between our members, to develop expertise, and to influence the future of international education.
Belgian American Educational Foundation
The primary purpose of the BAEF is to instill in Belgium as well as in the United States deep respect and appreciation for the other’s country and people. The Foundation has selected education to achieve this purpose, with a special emphasis on the younger generation. Education implies excellence in teaching, research, professional practice, management, as well as citizenship. BAEF fosters the higher education of deserving Belgians and Americans through its fellowship program between the United States and Belgium. Up to $31,000.
German Academic Exchange Service - DAAD
With more than 60,000 scholarships granted each year, DAAD claims that it is the largest academic exchange organization in the world. This service offers several scholarship programs, including one for highly qualified undergraduate students for study abroad, university language or summer courses, senior thesis research, and/or internships in the Federal Republic of Germany.
UK Summer Institutes - Fulbright
The US-UK Fulbright Commission UK Summer Institutes are made possible through generous donations from private individuals and through a Study Abroad Engagement Grant from USA Study Abroad within the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State, and our partnership with some of the top UK institutions.
High Financial Need
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
This program offers a competition for study abroad awards for US citizen students who are receiving federal Pell Grant funding at a 2-year or 4-year college or university. This scholarship seeks to lower barriers to undergraduate study abroad by offering scholarships to students with financial needs and encourages students underrepresented in study abroad to apply. The awards for a semester or academic year study abroad programs are up to $5,000. Please email our Gilman Advisor Kodi Henderson to go over your application materials - Kodi_Henderson@baylor.edu.
FEA’s Access Partners join in the shared commitment to increase the number of underrepresented American college students studying abroad through the provision of scholarships. As members of the FEA Access Advisory Board (AAB), our Access Partners collaborate, share best practices in international education, and actively engage in FEA’s mission. They are helping to make life-changing, international experiences accessible to all by supporting minority and first-generation college students.
Specialized
The Gilman -McCain Scholarship is a congressionally funded initiative of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State and named after the late senator John S. McCain from Arizona. The Gilman-McCain Scholarship provides awards of $5,000 for child dependents of active duty service members to study or intern abroad on credit-bearing programs.
Critical Languages and Countries Underrepresented in Study Abroad
Boren Scholarships provide up to $20,000 to U.S. undergraduate students to study abroad in areas of the world that are critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin American, and the Middle East. The countries of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are excluded.
Corinne Jeannine Schillings Scholarships
To preserve the memory of Corinne Jeannine Schillings, the Corinne Jeannine Schillings Foundation provides financial assistance to women pursuing their undergraduate degree and studying foreign languages and cultures.

Gilman - Critical Need Language Award
Applicants who are studying a critical need language while abroad can apply for a supplemental award of up to $3,000, for a combined total of $8,000. The Critical Need Language Award is competitive and offered to a limited number of Gilman scholars each year. Not all students who are studying these languages will receive $8,000.
Critical Language Scholarship for Intensive Summer Institutes
The CLS Program provides fully-funded seven to ten week group-based intensive language instruction and extensive cultural enrichment experiences held overseas at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels (beginning not offered for Azerbaijani, Chinese, Persian, or Russian) for U.S. citizen undergraduate, Masters, and Ph.D. students.
The Freeman-ASIA Program, generously supported by the Freeman Foundation and administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE), aims to increase the number of U.S. undergraduates who study in East and Southeast Asia by providing them with the information and financial assistance they will need. Award amounts vary from $3,000 for a summer program to $5,000 for a semester/quarter program to $7,000 for an academic year program.
The Turkish Coalition of America has the funding for 100 scholarships per year for African American, Armenian American, Bosnian American, Filipino American, Hispanic American, Macedonian American, and Native American students who have been accepted to a study abroad or language program in Turkey, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
Affiliate Scholarships
Baylor offers certain study abroad programs through affiliate providers. CIEE, CEA, SAI, IAU , or FIE. These programs offer their own scholarship opportunities. If you apply for a program through one of these organizations then you may have the opportunity for more funding. Note: not all programs on these sites are approved by Baylor. Senior Year & Graduate Opportunities
The Fulbright grant is a competitive award that students apply for their senior year or after they graduate. The grant offers a chance of a lifetime to spend a year studying, researching, or teaching abroad while building cultural bridges between the US and your host country. There are two main awards: the Study/Research Award, which funds graduate study or research in the host country, and the English Teaching Assistant (ETA) award, where grantees work as English teaching assistant. Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a graduate degree in the United Kingdom. Up to fifty Scholars are selected each year to study at the graduate level at a UK institution in nearly any field of study. As future leaders, with a lasting understanding of British society, Marshall Scholars strengthen the enduring relationship between the British and American peoples, their governments, and their institutions. Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships are extraordinary opportunities and provide funds for students to study abroad the year after graduation from college (or beyond). A student may apply for the Rotary during the spring of the junior year. Therefore, if a student is looking for a chance to study in the country of his or her dreams the year following graduation from Baylor, this is definitely a scholarship to be considered.

Baylor Office of Engaged Learning Fellowships and Awards
Housed within the College of Arts & Sciences, the Office of Engaged Learning supports undergraduate students from across Baylor's nine academic units as they pursue dynamic educations. While the university classroom serves as the cornerstone of academic excellence and a rich undergraduate experience, our office equips students to maximize their education beyond the classroom through civic engagement, fellowships and awards, research, internships, and study abroad opportunities. Fellowships and awards mentors work with students on all aspects of national merit award applications that will enrich their educations.
Stuart Rosenbaum Memorial Scholarship
The Stuart Rosenbaum Memorial Scholarship is named for the beloved philosophy professor, who also directed Baylor in Oxford. Dr. Rosenbaum was a 1965 graduate of Baylor, having majored in Philosophy and English. After attending Harvard Divinity School and earning his PhD in Philosophy from Brown, Dr. Rosenbaum taught for nearly 40 years in Baylor’s Philosophy Department. He served on the Faculty Senate, twice earned Baylor’s Outstanding Faculty Member Award, helped start and taught in the BIC program (of which he was honorary faculty), and led Baylor in Oxford for a number of years.
Priority is given to students who are aligned with Dr. Rosenbaum’s interests in Philosophy, Religion, and the BIC; demonstrate significant academic achievement; have financial need; and are first-time study abroad students.
Regarding with whom the student should speak: Baylor Financial Aid counselor.
Deadline: Students must apply for a study abroad program and apply for the scholarship by January 1st.

Heather Leann Dunnam Scholarship
The Heather Leann Dunnam Scholarship provides funds to help International Studies majors study abroad. Recipients are chosen based on academic merit and financial need.
Deadline: Rolling Admissions
Regarding Criteria:
1. Verified financial need (Be sure there is an up-to-date FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid office!)
2. Academic merit: Minimum GPA of 3.0
3. Upper-level hours: must have at least 60 credit hours.
4. Applicant has been accepted into a Baylor Study Abroad Program
5. Applicant is an International Studies major
The James W. Vardaman History Scholarship
This is a merit-based scholarship open to History majors participating in a Baylor Study Abroad Program. This scholarship was established in 2003 to honor Dr. James W. Vardaman, Professor Emeritus of History and Master Teacher at Baylor University. Dr. Vardaman received a B.A. degree from Baylor in 1951, an M.A. degree from the University of Minnesota at Crookston in 1952, and a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University in 1957. He taught at Baylor for 33 years and passed away in 2018.

Regarding Criteria: Awarded based on merit. Students participating in a Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall program are eligible to apply.
The Gene and Mary Richardson Endowed Scholarship Fund in Honor of Dr. James and Elizabeth Vardaman
This is a merit and need-based scholarship open to History majors participating in a Baylor study abroad program. This scholarship fund was established in 2012 by Gene A. and Mary C. Richardson. Dr. James Vardaman earned a B.A. degree from Baylor University in 1951, an M.A. degree from the University of Minnesota in 1952, and a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University in 1957. He taught at Baylor for 33 years and was presented with the Herbert H. Reynolds Retired Faculty Award in 2007 and the W. R. White Meritorious Service Award in 2004. He passed away in 2018. Elizabeth Vardaman earned B.S. and M.A. degrees from Baylor in 1965 and 1980, respectively and has served in various capacities within the university. Dr. Gene Richardson earned B.S. and M.D. degrees from Baylor in 1954 and 1957, respectively, and is a member of Baylor’s Heritage Club. Mary Richardson attended the University of Texas and became an Alumnus-by-Choice of Baylor in 1986.

The McBride Abroad Scholarship helps students to make studying abroad in certain faculty-led programs more affordable. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be admitted to the business school by the program departure date, and the scholarship is awarded based on need as determined by your FAFSA form. If you are applying to one of the following faculty-led programs, you may be eligible for a scholarship ranging between $1500-$5000, depending on your need.
Kate Alison Bronstein Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is open to Art History and/or Studio Art majors with sophomore, junior, or senior class standing. Students must be participating in a Study Abroad Program taking place in the Spring, Summer, or Fall to be considered for the award.
Deadline: March 11
Regarding Criteria: Awarded based on merit/need and aforementioned class standing.
Global Health Research Scholarship
This scholarship is available to undergraduate students participating in a Summer term Global Health Study Abroad experience affiliated with Baylor's Department of Anthropology.
Deadline: January 15
Archaeology Field School Scholarship
This opportunity is open to undergraduate students attending a field school in archaeology during the Summer term.

There are many ways to make a Baylor education fit your family's budget. Very few students pay the full tuition "sticker price" and are able to fund their education through various scholarships, financial aid, loans, and payment plans. Our financial aid counselors will help you explore these options.
