Disability Accommodations Abroad
Accessible for Everyone
Ability Abroad is a collaborative effort at Baylor University between the Office of Study Abroad and Office of Access and Learning Accommodation (OALA). This partnership facilitates equal access for students seeking to pursue a Study Abroad experience and to provide information on accessibility at overseas sites.
Study Abroad is one of the greatest experiences available to you and Baylor's Study Abroad staff can help you identify programs that are best for you. In conjunction with OALA we can provide information on possible accommodations and approximate cost. Though we cannot guarantee accessibility at all locations, we can advise students if particular sites appear to be inaccessible and we can recommend alternate sites, if needed.
NEVER let your disability discourage you from pursuing a Study Abroad program; earn academic credit, expand your cultural competence, and become more self-aware. The Offices of Study Abroad and Access and Learning Accommodation are here to guide you!
Study Abroad Accommodation Eligibility
Students registered with Office of Access and Learning Accommodation who are eligible for on-campus accommodations are also eligible for overseas accommodations when it can be arranged. Any site has the potential to be accessible. Students are encouraged to speak with their Accommodation Specialist and together fill out the Study Abroad Accommodations Request Form to identify the reasonable accommodations they need overseas.
