Garland School of Social Work: Living Room
811 Washington Ave, Waco, TX 76701

Join us for a welcoming shared lunch where students can connect and learn from current MSW and Global Mission Leadership Scholars about their social work practices in diverse contexts.

Meet our inspiring speakers:

  • Tom Chapman Smedley from Mexico City, who focuses on nonviolent advocacy and anti-trafficking efforts.
  • Laury Hildago from the Dominican Republic, who leads medical and dental clinics and promotes sustainable community practices.
  • Bethanie Saint Louis from Haiti, who works on innovative waste management projects.

If time permits, we’d love for everyone to share a tradition, meal, or cultural insight from their background. This is a great opportunity to deepen our understanding of global social work and foster community connections!
